Today was full of exciting moments…
Flat tire at 6:30 am as I drove to pick-up birth mama to get the sonogram and lab work completed today. But I remained calm and the “friendly highway flat fixer” showed up moments later to get me on my way.
Then came the wonderful moments of car conversations between birth mama and I. She introduced me to all the nurses as the adoptive mom and seemed proud to state that sharp-edged fact. She deserves much credit for her humble and graceful ways of dealing with this situation.
We both smiled when the tech said it was a BOY and giggled when he was not shy about showing his parts.
We embraced the long lab hours by running errands in between the 3 hours of blood draws for gestational diabetes.
In addition, she got a chance to see our house and small aspects of us. She loved the house and thought Leroy had a powerful presence, which he does.
Finally, I drove her home and as she started to sleep, I put in Tracy Chapman to relax my thoughts & reflect ~ as I did, she awoke for a second to say, “Tracy Chapman, I love her” ~ my heart smiled.
My only regret is the fact that Chris couldn’t be present but he did anxiously awaited all the news in-between flights.
Wonderful day, to say the least…
